Responsibilities
- Develop, review, document, and maintain SSD product firmware source code in C, C++, and Rust.
- Analyze specifications and develop low-level firmware, system architectures, operating systems, and device architectures in partnership with hardware and ASIC teams.
- Develop firmware for embedded systems running on real-time operating systems and manage hardware-software interactions.
- Use storage interface standards and protocols including NVMe, PCIe, SATA, and SAS.
- Perform unit and system-level testing, failure analysis, debugging, and validation of product issues.
- Lead feature planning and technical development through the product lifecycle, including development and validation plans.
- Coordinate priorities, activities, and milestones with engineering stakeholders and partner teams.
- Participate in the team's Agile/Kanban development and continuous-improvement practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in embedded software or firmware development using C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience developing embedded firmware running in an RTOS with hardware and software interactions.
- Experience with firmware development environments, including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
- Preferred experience in the storage industry, including SSDs or enterprise storage.
- Preferred experience applying cryptographic algorithms such as SHA2/3, HMAC, KDF, ECC, RSA, or ML-DSA.
- Preferred experience with embedded development techniques, hardware and firmware tools, storage interfaces, SSD security protocols, firmware development processes, DevOps strategies, project planning, customer requirements, and unit testing.
- Strong communication, presentation, multitasking, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, influence, and technical leadership skills.

- Salary range of 116,480 - 174,800 CAD, plus eligibility for restricted stock units, restricted cash units, and cash bonus programs.
