Base Salary

$115k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery and maintenance of autonomous-vehicle simulation test suites and the orchestration pipelines connecting requests to running tests.
  • Automate and standardize test creation, maintenance, evaluation integration, triage, and retirement workflows.
  • Build backend services, data pipelines, production infrastructure, tooling, interfaces, and analytics for scalable simulation testing.
  • Partner with autonomy, systems, safety, and customer teams to translate testing needs into practical automation.
  • Lead technical design and execution across teams while maintaining code quality, architecture, reliability, and engineering standards.
  • Mentor engineers and use analytics and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing, building, and operating production software, backend services, data platforms, or infrastructure systems.
  • Strong production-quality Python development skills, including unit testing, code review, debugging, and reliability practices.
  • Experience with scalable backend systems, APIs, microservices, workflow orchestration, or internal engineering platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-based production systems, deployment, observability, performance, and operational reliability.
  • Experience designing or operating data pipelines and data-processing systems using SQL, NoSQL, and other tools for large-scale operational, telemetry, or time-series data.
  • Experience with automated tests, validation, quality checks, CI/CD, or release workflows.
  • Ability to lead technical design documents, drive execution across teams, communicate effectively, and operate independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Preferred experience includes autonomous vehicles, robotics, simulation, evaluation systems, automated test generation or execution, quality processes, anomaly detection, issue triage, observability, time-series analysis, dashboards, distributed systems, containerization, and safety-critical or mission-critical products.
