Responsibilities
- Architect and implement enterprise-scale data solutions supporting Gen’s multi-petabyte infrastructure and cybersecurity platform.
- Design real-time, event-driven, lakehouse, warehouse, and advanced analytics architectures.
- Evaluate and implement modern data stack technologies and optimize cloud costs and data warehouse performance.
- Collaborate with executives and senior leadership to align data architecture with business strategy.
- Mentor IC9 and IC10 engineers on architecture and advanced technical skills.
- Lead complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
- Own multiple areas of the codebase or services and drive technical decisions independently.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 10–15 years of hands-on data engineering experience in large-scale, high-volume environments.
- Expert SQL optimization skills for multi-petabyte datasets and advanced Python programming ability.
- Extensive enterprise-scale experience with Snowflake architecture, optimization, and cost management.
- Expertise building Kimball dimensional data warehouses and star schema architectures.
- Advanced AWS experience and experience with dbt or SQLMesh for data transformations.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow, and data governance frameworks supporting GDPR and PCI-DSS compliance.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, real-time processing, event-driven architectures, Apache Iceberg, and data lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with MLOps frameworks, LLM integration, vector databases, and AI-driven analytics is preferred.
- Experience with subscription business models, cohort analysis, lifetime value calculations, and marketing attribution.
- Direct experience in cybersecurity, ad-tech, or high-volume data processing environments handling billions of events per day.
- Recognized expertise in data engineering with the strategic thinking and leadership ability to drive enterprise-scale technical and business impact.
