Responsibilities
- Maintain existing tax programs and related products for compliance with taxing agency regulations and guidelines.
- Research, analyze, and interpret federal and state tax legislation, codes, regulations, forms, and instructions.
- Implement moderate tax product changes using code and internal software.
- Perform unit testing and quality assurance checks during the annual update cycle.
- Learn and use tax content development tools for print and electronic filing.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum team, complete expected sprint work, and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of federal and state taxation, preferably across multiple tax categories.
- 3-7 years of income tax preparation or analysis experience.
- Previous in-depth use of tax preparation software is highly preferred.
- Moderate understanding of software best practices and coding techniques.
- Ability to learn and apply tax content development and automated or manual testing processes.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, listening, business, and professional skills.
- BA/BS in Business Accounting or Computer Science, or equivalent related experience.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
