Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain autonomy software across low-level embedded and higher-level autonomous aircraft systems.
- Develop computer vision, machine learning, and AI algorithms for perception and reasoning in autonomous aircraft.
- Contribute to integration, flight-test, simulation, deployment, testing, and iteration across autonomy teams.
- Design and optimize software for real-time edge-compute platforms and tune AI perception algorithms.
- Build software systems for aircraft data collection, processing, calibration, and testing.
- Evaluate and design sensing and compute solutions involving cameras, lidars, radars, and other sensors and compute hardware.
- Own technical solutions, document system designs and architectural trade-offs, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Monitor system health and performance, address issues, and provide user support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience developing software and systems for autonomous vehicles and real-time embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and software automation.
- Experience developing software for high-bandwidth robotics sensor data, including cameras and lidars.
- Ability to own technical solutions in autonomy software and document complex designs, trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Commitment to software best practices, rigorous code reviews, mentorship, and cross-functional communication.
- Must qualify as a US Person under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 to meet US export-control requirements.
- Preferred experience includes aerospace autonomy, aircraft-data processing, ROS2 or related middleware and DDS, RTOS, edge or embedded computing, aircraft autonomy SIL/HIL, hardware, and electronics.

- Target base pay is $167,400-$242,900 per year, plus Restricted Stock Units.
