Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and implement autonomy algorithms for aircraft perception and navigation.
- Develop core algorithms for state estimation, sensor fusion, localization, mapping, and reconstruction.
- Build and integrate autonomy-stack software, including modeling, simulation, analysis, regression testing, and performance-evaluation tools.
- Optimize and tune AI perception and navigation algorithms for autonomous aircraft.
- Prototype methods for mapping and reconstruction in diverse environments.
- Evaluate cameras, lidar, radar, other sensors, and compute solutions for autonomous aircraft.
- Collaborate with Superpilot, sensing, controls, and flight software teams to deliver integrated autonomy features.
- Monitor system health and performance, address issues, and provide user support.
- Document technical designs, architectural trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and software-engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience developing software and systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Expert knowledge of perception and navigation for autonomous systems, including state estimation, sensor fusion, and reconstruction.
- Deep understanding of computer vision and machine learning methods.
- Expertise in signal processing, optimization, and statistical inference.
- Ability to invent and own technical solutions in autonomy software.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Must qualify as a US Person under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 to meet US export-control requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include aerospace autonomy experience with multidisciplinary teams, expert-level software architecture and implementation, aircraft sensor-data processing, camera/lidar/radar processing, ROS2 or related middleware and DDS experience, and real-time safety-critical C++ flight-software experience.
