Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and develop internal software requirements for validation and verification.
  • Lead development of manual and automated software verification procedures covering complete requirements.
  • Execute validation and verification of large embedded software subsystems.
  • Collect, summarize, and present test results to internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate requirements-based software testing and support system test activities for software test teams.
  • Use Python for scripting and test automation.
  • Maintain configuration management and released software test procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and resolve technical testing issues.
  • Participate in software development lifecycle process improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing or testing embedded systems, including formal verification and validation of moderately complex real-time software in high-reliability environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++.
  • Experience developing efficient, reusable unit and requirements-based software tests.
  • Knowledge of software development processes, methods, and configuration management.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate across multiple engineering disciplines and work in collaborative cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with multiple software development and verification environments and toolchains is desirable.
  • Master’s degree in engineering is desirable.
  • Experience with power electronics control software, user interface testing tools, MATLAB Simulink, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, automated testing, static analysis, or automated system-level testing is desirable.
  • Experience with military products, military specifications, DO-178, DO-254, or equivalent quality systems is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of DOORS for requirements management is desirable.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, and the position may require an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
