Base Salary
$191k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build network automation and orchestration systems for global network infrastructure.
- Develop software for network provisioning, configuration management, device lifecycle management, validation, monitoring, telemetry, and automated remediation.
- Build software integrating DPUs, SmartNICs, programmable network infrastructure, network fabrics, routing infrastructure, and vendor systems.
- Create scalable abstractions across network vendors and hardware implementations while maintaining operational safety and reliability.
- Build diagnostic tools and automation for network and infrastructure operations.
- Lead projects from technical design through implementation, deployment, and long-term operation.
- Establish technical direction, architectural decisions, RFCs, design documents, and implementation plans for major initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing and building production software systems at scale.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, concurrency, testing, observability, and reliability.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of Go, Python, or C++.
- Experience building automation, orchestration, or infrastructure platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and network telemetry.
- Experience with network devices, network automation frameworks, APIs, or vendor SDKs.
- Experience designing systems that operate safely in highly available production environments.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience producing RFCs, architecture and design documents, technical proposals, project plans, and related documentation.
- Ability to turn ambiguous infrastructure problems into scalable software architectures and actionable implementation plans.
- Ability to influence technical decisions across teams and operate as a technical leader without organizational authority.
- Preferred experience includes DPUs, SmartNICs, IPUs, programmable data planes, eBPF, P4, SONiC, white-box networking, OpenConfig, gNMI, NETCONF, YANG, streaming telemetry, Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, 400G+ datacenter networks, and open-source infrastructure projects.
