Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
- Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, needs, and difficult technical problems.
- Design, prototype, implement, and ship production solutions alongside the team.
- Own projects end to end from discovery and architecture through shipping and iteration.
- Set the technical bar through architecture decisions, code reviews, and hands-on engineering.
- Translate customer deployment insights into foundational platform improvements.
- Partner with other FDE leads to establish engineering standards, rituals, and playbooks globally.
- Contribute to core product strategy, technical decisions, and company culture.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience across software engineering, technical architecture, and customer-facing engineering.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
- A track record of remaining deeply hands-on while leadership scope has grown.
- Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals, including React and TypeScript on the frontend and robust backend development.
- Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems.
- Experience owning complex technical engagements end to end.
- Exceptional product intuition and ability to work directly with users.
- Ability to move between writing code, making architectural decisions, leading engineers, and working with senior stakeholders.
- Comfort operating with high ambiguity, agency, and velocity.
- Bonus qualifications include scaling a team or technical function from zero, working on agentic AI systems or production LLM applications, leading zero-to-one product development, working in a founding or early startup environment, and experience across startups, big tech, consulting, or enterprise AI.
