Responsibilities
- Design and operate isolated, access-controlled AWS environments using infrastructure as code.
- Run on-premises infrastructure end to end, including hardening, patching, access management, audit logging, backups, and GPU workloads.
- Enable offline installations, internet-free updates, reproducible builds, and deployments into customer-operated networks.
- Implement and document technical controls aligned with BSI IT-Grundschutz and ISO 27001 and support audits and certifications.
- Build logging, monitoring, and forensic readiness for incident detection, investigation, and documentation.
- Establish secure deployment, secrets-management, and least-privilege practices across engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, or systems engineering.
- Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience.
- In-depth AWS knowledge, including IAM, networking, and multi-account setups.
- Strong Linux administration skills, including system hardening and bare-metal server operations.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab.
- Solid TCP/IP, VPN, firewall, and network-segmentation knowledge.
- Python and Bash scripting and automation experience.
- Understanding of least privilege, secrets management, and auditability.
- Fluent English and German.
- Willingness to work on-site in Berlin, travel occasionally to customer sites, and undergo German security clearance.
- AWS and/or Terraform certifications are preferred.
- Experience with air-gapped or offline environments, regulated environments, private cloud such as OpenStack, GPU or ML infrastructure, workload schedulers, BSI IT-Grundschutz or ISO 27001, and Prometheus or Grafana is advantageous.
