Responsibilities
- Build and improve data pipelines and data-processing workflows.
- Structure, process, and analyze large-scale visual datasets.
- Develop software for visual data analytics and intelligence applications.
- Build scrapers and data-collection tooling as needed.
- Support classification, detection, and computer vision workflows from a software and data perspective.
- Own short-lived experimental projects and rapidly prototype new ideas.
- Support technical initiatives across the Lancelot team and collaborate with engineers and technical leadership.
- Travel every 2–4 weeks for architecture reviews and team events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, with an excellent grade record from a leading university; a Master’s is preferred.
- Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages and the ability to code independently, including without AI assistance when required.
- Experience with modern AI-assisted development environments and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code.
- Strong interest in data, data analytics, and data pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, learning, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Self-directed and hands-on, with the ability to work without close day-to-day management.
- Excellent German language skills.
- Eligible to work full-time in Germany and willing to undergo security clearance and background checks.
- Nice-to-have experience includes large-scale data pipelines, data-intensive systems, georeferencing, satellite imagery, remote sensing, OpenStreetMap, photogrammetry, computer vision, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, sensors, computer vision research, Russian or Ukrainian, and military, intelligence, defense, or public safety domains.
