Responsibilities
- Own the AI value journey, business outcomes, prioritization, and accountability for a business area.
- Translate business needs into a prioritized AI backlog and decide what to build, defer, or reject.
- Lead, coach, and grow a standing squad of Forward Deployed AI Engineers while setting technical direction.
- Remain hands-on by coding, reviewing code, and shaping agentic AI architecture.
- Define success measures, feedback loops, validation gates, and measurement practices for AI investments.
- Align AI work across squads and business areas through reusable patterns, shared platforms, and capability reuse.
- Manage stakeholder expectations around AI cost, performance, feasibility, and responsible use.
- Protect guests and operations through human-centric decision-making about when AI is appropriate.
Requirements
- Deep business understanding and credibility with senior stakeholders, ideally in aviation or another operations-heavy domain.
- Experience building and shipping agentic AI and production software while remaining hands-on.
- A track record of owning a product or end-to-end outcome from discovery through production and measurable business impact.
- Experience leading, coaching, and growing a small technical team and setting direction for architecture, quality, evaluation, security, and cost.
- Strong understanding of LLM orchestration, tool calling, RAG, MCP integrations, guardrails, evaluation, latency, quality, cost, and reliability trade-offs.
- Experience aligning work across teams, defining success measures and feedback loops, and creating reusable patterns or shared platforms.
- Typically 8+ years across software and AI, including hands-on GenAI and LLM work and delivery ownership.
- Fluent English and comfort working in a culturally diverse, international team.
- Master’s degree or strong bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant cloud-AI, GenAI, agentic-AI, or MLOps certifications are advantageous.
