Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use programming languages, databases, container orchestration, and AWS services to build software solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and optimize system performance.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
- Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, or engineering.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two listed programming languages, 3+ years with databases, and 3+ years with cloud technologies.
- Preferred: experience with open-source frameworks, frontend JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, observability, mentoring, cross-functional engineering leadership, large-scale initiatives, coding standards, and design patterns.

- Annual base salary ranges by location from $179,400-$204,700 in Chicago, $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, and $215,200-$245,600 in New York.
