Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end test strategy and planning, including scope, risk assessment, release criteria, and coverage targets.
- Lead quality discussions during grooming, sprint planning, and design reviews, and set quality objectives for the delivery team.
- Develop and maintain functional, regression, integration, API, exploratory, and automated tests.
- Build UI and API automation using tools such as Playwright and Postman/Newman.
- Perform API validation, contract verification, data reconciliation, ETL testing, and database-state analysis.
- Integrate automated tests into Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines for continuous testing.
- Document defects, perform root cause analysis, and review logs, stack traces, and database states.
- Manage test data, mock services, and QA environment configurations.
- Track quality metrics including defect density, escape rate, test coverage, and automation progress.
- Coordinate testing with distributed teams and offshore or nearshore vendor partners.
- Coach, guide, and review junior team members and provide training on quality engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of quality engineering or software testing experience, including at least 2 years of test automation experience.
- Hands-on proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to read, understand, and debug production code.
- Experience designing test strategies and owning end-to-end test planning for a product, team, or release.
- Experience with automated testing tools including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, or Postman/Newman.
- Understanding of API testing, request and response validation, status codes, error handling, and RESTful service patterns.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts for data validation, transformation checks, and ETL testing.
- Experience contributing automated tests to CI/CD pipelines and understanding continuous testing principles.
- Familiarity with Git, branching strategies, and pull request workflows.
- Understanding of the test automation pyramid and coverage across unit, API, UI, and data layers.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Awareness of AI-assisted testing tools and willingness to use AI workflows for test generation and defect analysis.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices, shift-left testing, and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments, coordinate quality tasks, delegate work, and review junior team members’ output.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
- Insurance domain experience, particularly in claims management or insurance billing, is preferred.
