Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AI-powered production features using large language models.
- Integrate LLMs into applications and services while shaping scalable backend architectures and APIs.
- Develop, test, and refine prompts to improve accuracy, safety, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript and modern frameworks.
- Define and implement evaluation, logging, metrics, and experimentation for LLM systems.
- Contribute shared AI architecture patterns, engineering standards, and scalable implementation approaches.
- Make engineering decisions that account for privacy, model risk, operational resilience, cost, and latency.
- Collaborate with product, data, design, engineering, and other stakeholders to identify and deliver valuable AI opportunities.
- Stay current with emerging AI tools and techniques and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building, shipping, and operating scalable, production-grade software systems.
- Experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript stacks, including Node.js and backend frameworks.
- Practical experience integrating large language models into real applications through APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
- Experience designing and working with APIs and backend services, including RESTful architectures and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments, containerization, monitoring, and deployment practices, ideally in AWS ecosystems.
- Experience with data stores such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and/or vector databases.
- Ability to reason about cost, latency, privacy, risk, and operational trade-offs in AI-powered systems.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, curiosity, and adaptability.
- Interest in emerging AI tools, techniques, and best practices, with a thoughtful and evidence-oriented approach.
