Responsibilities

  • Design and ship scalable security solutions.
  • Build partnerships with engineering teams across Twilio products and platforms.
  • Integrate scalable security capabilities with product and engineering teams.
  • Use product-level security metrics and data to drive accountability and action.
  • Drive security risk reduction through technical leadership and influence of engineering roadmaps.
  • Lead security reviews for critical features, initiatives, and infrastructure changes.
  • Develop security expertise across engineering through mentorship, technical guidance, and training.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of security engineering experience with a proven record of designing and implementing scalable security solutions.
  • Deep expertise in application security, cloud security, or product security.
  • Experience with threat modeling methodologies and leading security design reviews.
  • Experience leveraging LLMs in security solutions.
  • Ability to translate emerging security threats and trends into engineering requirements and technical roadmaps.
  • Strong software development background with specialized security engineering expertise.
  • Proficiency in Python; Go and Java proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience driving software delivery through robust CI/CD processes and using AI-enabled development productivity tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives and influence outcomes outside the security organization.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or related industry experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, comfort with ambiguity, and understanding of infrastructure and application security risks and mitigations.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and working knowledge of containerization and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
