Base Salary

$260k - $358k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate deep learning models for multimodal classification and reasoning tasks.
  • Manage the full research lifecycle from stakeholder discussions and data collection through annotation, preprocessing, training, and rigorous evaluation.
  • Prototype models in Python using PyTorch or TensorFlow and implement mid-training and post-training improvements.
  • Apply knowledge distillation to transfer reasoning capabilities from larger models to smaller, efficient models.
  • Develop transformer architecture modifications, reasoning improvements, and reinforcement-learning-based policy optimization.
  • Design multi-agent orchestration, task decomposition, and complex reasoning workflows using static and dynamic agentic harnesses.
  • Document experiments and results through internal reports, blog posts, and publications at conferences and workshops.
  • Collaborate with AI, NLP, audio, time-series, reinforcement-learning, and other domain experts.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience releasing AI/ML products.
  • PhD in AI, NLP, computer vision, speech processing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, or CVPR.
  • Expertise training, post-training, and evaluating transformer-based models, including training dynamics, architecture modifications, and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning such as GRPO, advanced reasoning-model post-training, RL implementation, and policy optimization.
  • Experience implementing and modifying transformer architectures, including encoder/decoder variants, attention mechanisms, and positional encodings.
  • Knowledge of Chain-of-Thought, agentic tree search, continual learning, multi-agent orchestration, and task decomposition.
  • Experience with frameworks such as LangGraph and dynamic multi-agent harnesses.
  • Ability to adapt to new research directions and explore emerging approaches including JEPA training, world models, diffusion-based generation, and agentic harnesses.
  • Interest in edge AI deployment, multi-agent orchestration, and deep research automation.
