Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and data-plane functionality for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Build fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented design.
- Develop performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests; configure alarms and monitor system correctness, health, and availability.
- Create dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, operational procedures, and automation for troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
- Collaborate across teams, review implementations for scalability, track work with limited supervision, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of software-development experience, or a relevant bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or a relevant master's degree with 2 years of experience, or a relevant doctorate.
- Demonstrated knowledge or ability in distributed systems, scalable and highly available software, computer science programming, software engineering, web development, algorithms, operating systems, APIs, source control, and vulnerability mitigation.
- At least 2 years of professional experience with cloud platforms.
- At least 3 years of experience in system-level testing and automation.
- At least 2 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
