Base Salary
$150k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable applications for data platforms.
- Maintain and support critical data services, including participation in support rotations.
- Perform data maintenance, backups, and security checks.
- Optimize data access.
- Integrate and manage third-party data sources and feeds.
- Ensure data security according to internal policies and procedures.
- Build GUI tools to visualize data.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design and implementation through production support and continuous enhancement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, or another compiled language.
- Experience with data-intensive systems or large datasets.
- Strong understanding of developing and troubleshooting applications in Linux environments.
- Experience with code reviews, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Ability and willingness to participate in operational or on-call rotations.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows.
- Preferred: production experience with KDB+/Q or willingness to learn.
- Preferred: Python experience.
- Preferred: understanding of financial markets or trading systems.
- Preferred: exposure to an order management system.
- Preferred: knowledge of the FIX protocol.

- New York-based position with an annual base pay range of $150,000 to $175,000.
