Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, transformations, and data models for analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
- Build and operate data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Spark, data warehousing, and orchestration platforms.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, reliability, and operational practices across data platforms and pipelines.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and actionable data products with stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Improve data platform capabilities through automation, deployment processes, metadata management, and operational tooling.
- Investigate data issues, respond to incidents, implement corrective actions, and improve platform resiliency.
- Share data engineering practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and improve engineering standards across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 8+ years of technical experience in software, network, service, or systems engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing data and data-related technologies.
- Experience designing, developing, or supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data models, or analytical solutions.
- Experience with SQL and modern data engineering technologies such as Spark, Python, PySpark, Scala, data warehouses, or cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions with business stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, OneLake, or comparable cloud analytics technologies.
- Preferred experience with SQL, Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, distributed data processing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
- Preferred experience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, data quality management, DevOps methodologies, governance, privacy, and compliance.
