Responsibilities
- Own uptime, SLAs, and SLOs for API and platform services.
- Establish reliability and operational best practices for developers.
- Build and maintain logging, metrics, and tracing observability.
- Design and operate high-availability deployment and containerization strategies.
- Profile and optimize Python applications for throughput, latency, and cost.
- Debug production issues at the operating-system level using tools such as strace, perf, eBPF, ss, and gdb.
- Improve deployment and CI/CD workflows.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and conduct post-incident reviews.
- Independently identify and complete reliability projects from conception through delivery.
Requirements
- Full-time experience in SRE, DevOps, or backend engineering is required, preferably in a trading firm, technology company, or high-growth startup.
- Hands-on experience with observability tooling for logging, metrics, and tracing is required.
- Experience with containerization and high-availability deployment is required.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including application development and performance optimization, is required.
- Experience with Linux debugging and profiling tools such as strace, perf, eBPF, ss, and gdb is required.
- A track record of measurable impact in a recent role is expected.
- Experience with alerting and incident response practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with Ansible or Terraform is helpful.
- Experience with HTTP benchmarking, load testing, and capacity planning is a bonus.
- Database schema design and query optimization skills are beneficial.
- Good communication skills and work ethic for a remote workplace are expected.
- Interest in financial data or algorithmic trading is beneficial.
