Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, administration, optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise Hadoop clusters and data platform services.
- Administer Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Oozie, ZooKeeper, and Impala.
- Define standards for availability, performance, capacity planning, disaster recovery, backup, monitoring, security, and platform operations.
- Drive infrastructure optimization across storage, compute, workload management, job scheduling, provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, security, and infrastructure teams on data ingestion, processing, governance, and access patterns.
- Troubleshoot distributed-system, platform-performance, and production-stability issues; lead root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Evaluate cloud data platform migration and hybrid architecture strategies.
- Mentor engineers and administrators and provide technical leadership across platform operations and engineering initiatives.
- Maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, architecture standards, data views, data exports, and automated data processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field, or related work experience.
- At least 5 years of engineering work experience and at least 5 years of project management work experience.
- Basic knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, fiber, bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet, transport technologies, network design, TCP/IP, the OSI Model, network devices, network appliances, ticketing tools, and Visio.
- At least 4 years of software development experience using Python or TypeScript.
- Experience with Django, Flask, FastAPI, shell scripting, networking concepts, system security best practices, and system monitoring.
- Experience managing systems in large-scale, highly available, multisite environments and working with DevOps practices and tools.
- Experience with Hadoop, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Splunk, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Advanced knowledge of network automation, concurrent, parallel, and asynchronous programming, and RESTful API design and operation.
- Working knowledge of PEP8 programming practices and the ability to interpret and communicate RFC and IEEE standards.
- CCIE or other industry- and vendor-specific certifications and training, including Cisco, Juniper, or Alcatel-Lucent, is preferred.
