Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend features, APIs, and business logic for AI agents and user-facing applications.
- Build integrations with ERPs, banks, CRMs, HRIS, payroll, billing systems, and other finance data sources.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes that move data reliably from external systems into the database.
- Optimize backend systems for the performance and reliability requirements of high-volume AI queries.
- Own substantial backend product components with a high degree of autonomy.
Requirements
- At least two years of backend engineering experience delivering production systems and features.
- Strong experience building APIs, working with databases, and developing backend services, with TypeScript and Node.js preferred.
- Ability to build integrations, quickly understand API documentation, and connect disparate systems.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and moving data across siloed systems.
- Experience with financial systems such as ERPs, billing, or payroll, or with fintech products, is preferred but not required.
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery and ETL tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, prototyping, self-direction, and ownership skills in a fast-paced startup environment.
