Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build developer tools used daily by Amazon engineers.
- Maintain and evolve build tools, compilers, libraries, frameworks, and other foundational software.
- Contribute directly to upstream open-source projects and help shape their development.
- Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to identify pain points and build solutions.
- Write and review code, debug tooling issues, mentor engineers, and help improve the builder experience.
- Lead design and architecture for new and existing systems with attention to reliability and scaling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

- Base salary range of $168,100.00–$227,400.00 annually, varying by listed U.S. location, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
