Base Salary
$296k - $335k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the model development platform architecture for reliability, observability, scalability, performance, latency, and availability.
- Unify front-end interfaces, distributed training, data pipelines, compute orchestration, and experiment scheduling systems.
- Lead hands-on architectural reviews and solve complex cross-team technical problems while writing and reviewing production-quality code.
- Build experimentation and scheduling systems using linear programming, heuristic optimization, and related techniques for simulation and on-road model testing.
- Architect pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and enriching petabytes of fleet sensor data across GPU, CPU, cloud, and edge compute.
- Partner with Product, Research, Operations, and platform leadership on technical vision, architecture, and roadmap.
- Mentor engineers across levels and promote engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, ML/AI infrastructure, full-stack web applications, or developer platforms, including at least three years as a staff- or principal-level engineer.
- Experience designing systems across web platforms, ML pipelines, and large-scale compute orchestration using technologies such as Spark, Ray, Kubernetes, Airflow, and MLflow.
- Experience improving platform reliability, defining SLAs/SLOs, and building self-healing and observable systems with four-nines availability or better.
- Deep understanding of distributed computing, workflow orchestration, data modeling, and API design, with the ability to write and review production-quality code.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, technical influence, and mentoring skills.
- Experience applying algorithmic or mathematical optimization, such as linear programming or graph algorithms, to operational or scheduling problems is desirable.
- Familiarity with end-to-end model lifecycle tooling, autonomous systems or robotics, safety-critical domains, modern web frameworks, and data privacy and compliance practices is desirable.
