Base Salary
$131k - $192k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the vision and strategy for scalable data platform frameworks.
- Scale analytical infrastructure to support increasing data volumes and use cases.
- Build and operate high-scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the data platform.
- Create abstractions and tools that simplify data workflows for engineers, analysts, and ML practitioners.
- Establish and support data quality, cataloging, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Foster a positive and supportive engineering culture while helping develop other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of industry experience for I4-level placement or 5 years for I5-level placement.
- Experience with big data domains including streaming, batch processing, and data lake OLAP.
- Experience building meaningful data infrastructure and improving data platform efficiency, scalability, and stability.
- Experience with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, Cassandra, ClickHouse, and Iceberg.
- Prior experience with big data infrastructure and governance is required; experience with open-source technologies such as DataHub, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or Flink is a bonus.
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area, Seattle, or New York.
