Responsibilities
- Operate and improve large-scale Kafka-based messaging and platform infrastructure.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, performance, observability, automation, and operational excellence of asynchronous communication platforms.
- Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant systems and platform capabilities.
- Troubleshoot production incidents across application, infrastructure, and network layers and drive root-cause remediation.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure usage while balancing reliability, performance, and cost.
- Partner with engineers and teams on platform standards, tooling, best practices, and architectural decisions.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and production experience with distributed systems.
- Solid experience with Kubernetes, networking, and AWS in large-scale or business-critical environments.
- Experience operating infrastructure-heavy platforms with high reliability and availability requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and improve observability, automation, and operational tooling.
- Strong understanding of scalability, resilience, performance, and failure-isolation patterns.
- Ability to work autonomously on ambiguous technical problems and collaborate across team boundaries.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging and streaming technologies is preferred.
- Platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure-focused backend engineering, multi-account AWS environments, large-scale cloud operations, and high-throughput event-driven architecture experience are preferred.
