Base Salary

$120k - $145k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Create highly reliable software systems controlling thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit.
  • Own software through requirements definition, prototyping, development, testing, on-orbit rollout, and ongoing production maintenance.
  • Design and build satellite capabilities involving sensors, inter-satellite lasers, and space-based cloud computing.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams and directly with end customers to deliver products and data meeting their needs.
  • Develop Linux-based C++ software for common processors and microcontrollers.
  • Develop embedded cryptography applications for satellites and ground equipment.
  • Build high-performance networks and automated ground software integrating data processing with satellite command and control.
  • Develop models, simulations, and test-execution tools for virtualized hardware, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-in-the-loop environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Development experience in C, C++, or Rust.
  • Fundamental knowledge of computer architecture, networks, debugging, and software testing.
  • Production experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.
  • Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
