Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex backend capabilities for real-time threat analysis and exposure management services.
- Translate ambiguous product and technical requirements into designs, implementation plans, and production-ready software.
- Build, test, deploy, and operate scalable microservices with strong reliability, observability, performance, and maintainability.
- Own production outcomes, including operational readiness, incident response, deployments, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and improvements to engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product, security operations, and engineering partners on pragmatic technical trade-offs.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of distributed systems and team-wide engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience shipping production-quality backend software, including ownership of complex production services.
- Strong coding skills and a record of delivering simple, maintainable solutions to complex technical problems.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based distributed systems, preferably on AWS.
- Hands-on Golang experience is preferred; strong Java or other backend development experience is also valuable.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS is preferred.
- Ability to lead technical design for microservices and guide implementation across multiple engineers.
- Experience improving reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence in production systems.
- Interest in mentoring developers and working at the intersection of big data, cybersecurity, and real-time systems.
- Candidates may need authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations.
