Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, test, and debug embedded software in C/C++ based on defined requirements.
- Contribute to software design, unit testing, integration, and verification activities.
- Analyze and resolve routine software problems and support investigation of software defects.
- Participate in requirements, design, code, and test reviews.
- Identify and clearly communicate technical issues and risks.
- Create and maintain software engineering documentation and requirements traceability.
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and validation teams.
- Follow established software development, coding, configuration-management, and quality processes.
- Build knowledge of embedded systems, product architecture, and railway applications while progressively handling more complex assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of software development experience in embedded systems.
- Good programming fundamentals in C and/or C++.
- Understanding of embedded concepts including memory, interrupts, multitasking/concurrency, and hardware/software interfaces.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix or an RTOS.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, debugging, version control, and unit testing.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and learn from experienced engineers and subject-matter experts.
- Preferred exposure to QNX, FreeRTOS, other RTOS platforms, Ethernet/TCP-IP, CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, device drivers, BSP development, Python, Bash, automated testing, requirements traceability, embedded cybersecurity, or safety-critical domains such as railway, automotive, industrial, or aerospace.
