Responsibilities
- Write, test, maintain, review, and release embedded C/C++ software for locomotive control systems.
- Resolve software issues from testing, production, and field environments through defect investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Implement cybersecurity features and obtain Cyber Authorization to Operate using activities such as SAST, DAST, threat modeling, and CVE resolution.
- Support factory and customer locomotives through testing, feature demonstrations, software loading, and problem analysis.
- Perform testing and verification across locomotives, HITL environments, VirtualSIM, and desktop unit-testing environments.
- Estimate software development tasks and deliver software on time and according to applicable engineering standards.
- Work cross-functionally with systems engineering, product management, simulation, verification, validation, and electronic hardware teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Fluent English.
- Experience designing and developing embedded and real-time software systems.
- Hands-on experience testing and debugging embedded software or firmware.
- Experience writing, testing, and releasing embedded C/C++ software.
- Experience with QNX versions 6.3.2, 6.5, or 7.1 and familiarity with Linux, Greenhill, or Mentor Nucleus.
- Experience with Perforce, GitLab, and ClearQuest.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices including SAST, DAST, threat modeling, CVE resolution, and Cyber Authorization to Operate.
- Experience with DDS, Jenkins, OpenSSH, PuTTY, Tera Term, Wireshark, Momentics, Coverity, serial communication, ARCnet, Ethernet, and QNET.
- Experience with Xilinx, ARM, or PPC processors.
- Ability to support on-site factory and customer investigations and collaborate across engineering functions.
