Responsibilities
- Write, test, debug, review, and release embedded software for locomotive control systems.
- Maintain existing products and resolve software issues originating in testing, production, and field operations.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions in factory, customer, hardware-in-the-loop, virtual simulation, and desktop testing environments.
- Implement cyber features and obtain Cyber Authorization to Operate using activities such as SAST, DAST, threat modeling, and CVE resolution.
- Support factory and customer locomotive testing, defect investigations, software loading, feature demonstrations, and verification.
- Follow configuration-management processes and applicable engineering standards while delivering quality software on schedule.
- Estimate software development tasks and collaborate with systems engineering, product management, simulation, verification, validation, and electronic hardware teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Fluent English.
- Experience designing and developing embedded and real-time software systems.
- Hands-on experience testing and debugging embedded software or firmware.
- Ability to write code, test, and release embedded software using C/C++.
- Experience with Perforce, GitLab, ClearQuest, and QNX, including QNX 6.3.2, 6.5, or 7.1.
- Familiarity with cyber engineering activities including SAST, DAST, threat models, CVE resolution, and Cyber Authorization to Operate.
- Experience with embedded tools and technologies including DDS, Jenkins, OpenSSH, PuTTY, Tera Term, Wireshark, Momentics, Coverity, and SAST/DAST tools.
- Knowledge of serial, ARCnet, Ethernet, and QNET communication media.
- Experience with Xilinx, ARM, or PPC processors.
