Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available, massively scaled CloudWatch telemetry collection systems.
  • Develop telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go for metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Expand services across AWS Regions and diagnose, resolve, and prevent recurring collection issues.
  • Design solutions for performance and footprint challenges and translate customer requirements into incremental deliverables.
  • Contribute changes to OpenTelemetry and engage with upstream open-source communities.
  • Use GenAI and AI-powered development tools to improve productivity.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help grow the team’s technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Professional non-internship software development experience is required.
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is required.
  • Strong programming skills in at least two of Rust, Go, Java, C++, and Python are required.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
  • Full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, is preferred.
  • Open-source enthusiasm and contributions, such as a GitHub portfolio or contributions to OpenTelemetry, are preferred.
