Base Salary

$173k - $259k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead cryptography projects and R&D focused on blockchain, distributed ledger technology, digital assets, cryptocurrency, and Web3.
  • Analyze DeFi, DAOs and governance, smart contracts, and other tokenized or digital asset concepts.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks affecting digital asset ecosystems.
  • Develop actionable frameworks and plans to safeguard digital asset ecosystems.
  • Provide thought leadership for MITRE blockchain and cryptography research.
  • Serve as a digital assets subject matter expert and lead training and educational sessions for internal teams and sponsors.
  • Lead technical programs and projects and collaborate with teams and sponsors.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 7 years with a master’s degree, or at least 5 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of zero-knowledge cryptography, threshold cryptography, and post-quantum cryptography.
  • Experience applying cybersecurity to cryptocurrencies and digital assets, including key management, KYC, on-chain analysis, and consensus protocols.
  • Technical program or technical project management experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and technical judgment skills.
  • Ability to deliver results, collaborate across teams, and work effectively in secure or classified environments.
  • Preferred degree in computer science, cybersecurity, electrical/computer engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Broad exposure to cryptography and applied methods, Internet and network engineering, and cryptographic standards and guidelines in deployed systems.
  • TS eligibility is preferred.
