Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support well-scoped features, fixes, and improvements for team-owned services and components.
  • Translate product and technical requirements into maintainable code, APIs, data changes, tests, and operational checks.
  • Contribute to component-level and service-level design discussions, identifying dependencies, risks, failure modes, and trade-offs.
  • Build automated unit and integration tests, improve test coverage, and apply sound software engineering fundamentals.
  • Instrument software with logs, metrics, traces, and alerts, and use observability tools to validate behavior and investigate issues.
  • Participate in on-call or support rotations to diagnose and resolve incidents according to established service-level expectations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, analysts, data partners, and other stakeholders to clarify use cases and deliver work incrementally.
  • Use approved AI-assisted development tools across the software lifecycle and review, test, secure, and harden AI-generated output before deployment.
  • Identify technical debt, reliability gaps, and inefficient practices, and share knowledge through reviews, pairing, documentation, demos, and engineering communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional software engineering experience.
  • Professional experience developing and maintaining production software on a collaborative engineering team.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and ecosystem, such as Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, or Python.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, modular design, testing, debugging, and version control.
  • Experience contributing to services or components in a cloud-based environment, including exposure to APIs, data modeling, deployment, and production support.
  • Ability to write maintainable code, explain implementation decisions, collaborate cross-functionally, communicate status and risks, and incorporate feedback.
  • Practical experience using approved AI-assisted development tools and validating or improving generated code, tests, documentation, or debugging output.
