Responsibilities
- Design, write, maintain, and improve software for Choicehotels.com and related services.
- Develop and deploy automated solutions to secure cloud development processes.
- Perform service capacity planning, demand forecasting, performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Monitor and create alerts for infrastructure components and participate in rotating after-hours and weekend on-call duties.
- Deliver software estimates and work on schedule while identifying and resolving important cross-cutting technical problems.
- Refactor technical debt and maintain awareness of current technologies, coding techniques, utilities, and operational practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of progressive software development experience, including work on highly transactional, mission-critical websites integrated with large-scale enterprise systems.
- At least 3 years of Java experience.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JMS, web service protocols, cloud technologies, and AWS.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, service-oriented architecture, software development best practices, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience with secure coding, encryption and decryption, authentication, common application attacks, and resolving SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and business logic flaws.
- Preferred experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, OWASP Top Ten, CWE Top 25, RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL, web analytics, build and CI tools, Akamai CDN, and Bot Manager.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
