Responsibilities
- Set the overall product goals and multi-year roadmap for YouTube Create.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to approximately 40 engineers in Bengaluru.
- Establish and advocate for engineering best practices across YouTube teams.
- Mentor and support technical leadership managers and technical leads on technical decisions.
- Co-own OKR and roadmap delivery with technical leadership managers.
- Drive cross-organizational collaboration and align strategy, direction, and decisions across multiple workstreams.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of full-stack development experience across backend and frontend codebases.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
