Base Salary
$176k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain research infrastructure software supporting complex systems.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments while ensuring compatibility, performance, and maintainability.
- Perform requirements interpretation, design, implementation, testing, verification, deployment, and documentation for prototype and operational software.
- Build automation, tooling, build pipelines, test automation, packaging, and release workflows.
- Develop and troubleshoot software in Linux-based environments at the operating-system and application layers.
- Support networked systems, networking stacks, data flows, distributed services, and mission environments.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, customers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and coordinate priorities.
- Provide technical guidance, review subcontractor deliverables, and ensure integration and quality standards.
- Produce design notes, build and deployment instructions, test evidence, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification is 6+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years with a master’s degree, or 2+ years with a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated software development experience building and integrating applications or services in complex environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one of C/C++, Java, or Go.
- Familiarity with secure development practices in restricted environments, including hardened enclaves, controlled repositories, and offline build patterns.
- Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, branching, pull requests, code reviews, and CI tooling such as Jenkins.
- Strong problem-solving, learning, delivery, and communication skills in ambiguous research settings.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
- Preferred qualifications include research-platform experience, technical leadership or mentoring, operational software testing and certification, Linux and Windows administration, shell scripting, virtualization, networking, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, artifact and package management, reproducible builds, and release engineering.
