Responsibilities
- Develop efficient on-device software that enables Siri to use app capabilities across the operating system.
- Work with app teams to understand and model application capabilities for assistant use.
- Design interfaces, tool and function-calling systems, context construction, and model-output validation.
- Build software prototypes, features, APIs, and cross-functional components with versioning and compatibility considerations.
- Develop and evaluate ML models and algorithms and visualize results through dashboards.
- Collaborate with Siri’s planning and execution team and drive alignment across teams on shared API surfaces.
- Optimize systems for on-device latency, memory, and power constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience developing ML- or AI-driven software.
- Proficiency in one or more of Python, Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
- Experience developing software prototypes and features driven by Large Language Models, including tool and function-calling interfaces, context construction, and model-output validation.
- Experience developing and evaluating ML models and algorithms using Python, PyTorch, and SQL, with results visualized through tools such as Tableau.
- Fluency with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and good judgment in verifying generated output.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to drive alignment across teams.
- Experience designing systems for resource-constrained environments, building cross-functional APIs, and managing interface versioning and compatibility are preferred.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced development team is preferred.
