Responsibilities
- Implement core rendering, compositing, and visual effect features for Apple platforms and devices.
- Develop platform- and device-specific graphics code in complex Unix-based codebases.
- Debug and triage complex, multi-layered systems issues.
- Analyze and optimize graphics performance across CPU and GPU systems.
- Collaborate with GPU driver, display, Metal framework, framework engineering, and HI design teams.
- Prototype and productize new visual concepts and expose rendering capabilities through framework integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of software development experience and at least 1 year of real-time rendering and computer graphics experience.
- Ability to write complex software in C/C++.
- Strong debugging and triaging skills, computer science fundamentals, and understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments and using command-line tools.
- Experience with graphics performance analysis and optimization techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to leverage GenAI to speed up development and increase quality.
- Preferred: Mac or iOS development with Swift or Objective-C; Metal, Vulkan, or DirectX experience; rendering or scene graph architectures; color management, HDR, and wide color gamut workflows.
- Preferred: CPU/GPU synchronization, multithreaded rendering, client/server or multiprocess graphics architectures, GPU profiling, consumer graphics products, and automated graphics-rendering test frameworks.
