Responsibilities

  • Build AI agents, tools, and data connectors in Python using APIs and SQL to read from business systems.
  • Design multi-step agent workflows in LangGraph or a comparable framework with human approval controls.
  • Choose appropriate retrieval methods, including database queries, API calls, and document search.
  • Build evaluation sets, measure answer correctness, and improve AI assistant performance.
  • Ship small increments weekly and demonstrate them to the team and business users.
  • Use AI coding assistants transparently and explain every committed line of code.
  • Document developed solutions and lessons learned for future users and maintainers.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a master's program or in the third or fourth year of a bachelor's program in computer science, mathematics, data science, or industrial engineering in the United States; master's students are preferred.
  • Available to continue part-time and remotely for about six months after the summer while studying.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite during the summer.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Hands-on Python project experience that includes Git and tests, with a project link submitted with the application.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including model APIs, tool calling, and structured outputs.
  • SQL experience, including joins across multiple tables.
  • Working understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
  • Preferred experience includes LangGraph or another agent framework, embeddings, vector search, RAG, MCP, knowledge graphs such as Neo4j, cloud platforms, and supply chain, manufacturing, or ERP concepts.
