Base Salary
$120k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve backend features across REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, and distributed task-processing systems.
- Write scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable code shared across platforms.
- Contribute to product direction and improve core backend systems, engineering standards, tooling, processes, and security.
- Debug production issues across services and stack layers and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Apply test-driven development, OWASP Top 10 techniques, and information-security policies and procedures.
- Report suspected security or policy violations and maintain awareness of data-handling best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- A few years of experience building web applications.
- Experience or strong interest in developing applications with Node.js.
- Experience implementing highly available distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience building scalable backend APIs.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres.
- Understanding of monitoring and alerting platforms is preferred.
- Commitment to high code quality, automated testing, engineering best practices, correctness, learning, and effective communication.
