Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
- Create applications that improve company operations.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own software engineering and product development activities across the lifecycle.
- Investigate user problems and create efficient solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and team collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or at least 2 years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of experience in full-stack development.
- Programming experience in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- At least 1 year of rigorous experience building single-page web applications.
- Experience with software system design, testing, build, deployment, monitoring, application profiling, and performance improvement.
- Experience with build systems such as Make, Bazel, Pants, Buck, or Gradle and package managers such as pip or npm.
- Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Experience with in-stream data processing technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Front-end experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
- Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
