Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve forwarding-plane and platform software for SD-WAN and edge routing solutions.
  • Collaborate with hardware and ASIC engineering teams on architecture, platform bring-up, low-level drivers, and Network Interface Module integration.
  • Design, implement, and maintain ROMMON and bootloader software for secure and reliable system initialization.
  • Develop and optimize high-performance forwarding-plane software and Layer 2 networking features.
  • Debug performance bottlenecks across kernel, hardware-abstraction, control-plane, firmware, and hardware layers.
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools and modern IDEs to improve development efficiency and code quality.

Requirements

  • Requires 8–12 years of industry experience in end-to-end networking software development.
  • Requires experience with platform and system software, kernel and user-space drivers, bootloaders, BIOS, and control-plane/data-plane performance tuning.
  • Requires strong C/C++ systems programming experience in Linux environments.
  • Requires experience with device drivers, RTOS or Linux kernels, and hardware-software interfaces.
  • Requires understanding of routing architectures and Layer 2 protocols including Ethernet, VLANs, and STP.
  • Requires experience with ROMMON, hardware bring-up, board support packages, LAN/WAN interfaces, and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies.
  • Requires experience debugging issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers and using AI/ML development tools such as code assistants, static analysis, or test automation.
  • Preferred qualifications include knowledge of PHY, MAC, MACsec, DPDK, cloud networking, I2C trace analysis, PCIe, x86 or ARM assembly, instruction sets, ABIs, and debuggers such as GDB, Arium, or BDI.
