Base Salary
$118k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build client application experiences in BrightScript using the Roku SceneGraph SDK.
- Develop features including onboarding, browse interfaces, analytics, and video playback UI.
- Contribute to JavaScript and React web tools, gulp build scripts, AWS configurations, and Node.js services.
- Vet Roku hardware, firmware, and certification requirements from a client-application perspective.
- Collaborate with SDK, design engineering, services engineering, product, backend, and mobile teams to communicate requirements and maintain platform parity.
Requirements
- 3+ years of development experience with a client-side development stack, ideally including BrightScript.
- Experience with MVVM architecture and reusable utilities, UI components, and generalized application logic.
- Bachelor’s degree or better in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent job experience.
- Experience creating performant user interfaces, pixel-perfect designs, animations, data-driven UX, and custom controls.
- Familiarity with set-top boxes or smart TVs, varying device capabilities, configuration-driven development, performance optimization, and feature degradation.
- Experience with asynchronous and concurrent code, unit testing, JavaScript client- and server-side development, DevOps, gulp scripts, Jenkins, and AWS.
