Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Python- and Java-based embedded software applications.
- Collaborate with embedded engineers and other teams to integrate software applications with hardware components.
- Follow coding standards, software development processes, and industry best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Perform software verification and validation activities to support product quality and reliability.
- Document software designs, requirements, and test procedures.
- Provide technical support to other teams and stay current with embedded-systems technologies.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and core Java.
- At least 1 year of hands-on software development experience.
- Experience with databases such as Timeseries, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Exposure to data science and machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices and tools including JIRA and Confluence.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electronic and communication engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with IEC-61850 standards and knowledge of HVDC systems are preferred.
- Knowledge of Git or SVN and experience with Agile software development practices are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, independent-work, teamwork, and communication skills.
