Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build instrumentation and metrics to identify how DynamoDB components contribute to latency.
  • Drive latency-reduction efforts and set performance targets for DynamoDB components.
  • Continuously improve DynamoDB’s capacity management model.
  • Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain highly available software solutions.
  • Create metrics, automation, and architectural improvements while resolving software defects.
  • Collaborate across teams, participate in design discussions and code reviews, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Research implementations that improve customer experience, service performance, durability, cost, and security.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR, or Storm/Samza.
  • Preferred experience debugging, profiling, and applying software engineering best practices in large-scale systems.
