Responsibilities
- Develop and launch on-device machine learning technologies for fraud prevention across Apple devices, Apple Pay, and Apple Wallet.
- Build models that operate in real time and in the background within model-size, memory, and inference-budget constraints.
- Apply classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and other machine learning methods to anticipate fraud patterns.
- Process and analyze data at scale using distributed data and compute frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, program management, and business partners to deliver machine learning systems.
- Own a problem area, develop system-wide context, communicate analytical results, and justify recommendations with evidence.
Requirements
- Experience with machine learning methods such as classification, clustering, and anomaly detection.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience processing and analyzing data at scale with distributed data or compute frameworks.
- Ability to communicate analytical results clearly and succinctly to varied audiences.
- Experience delivering results on ambiguous, loosely defined problems while collaborating with others.
- Rigorous analytical thinking and the ability to question assumptions, reason through problems, and support recommendations with evidence.
- Preferred: experience with resource-constrained or real-time machine learning deployment, including on-device deployment, model compression, or inference optimization.
- Preferred: experience with Spark, Ray, or Daft.
- Preferred: familiarity with privacy-preserving machine learning, fraud detection, risk modeling, security-focused machine learning, or iOS development.
