Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs using Java/Kotlin with Spring Boot or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Build React and TypeScript web applications and contribute to design systems and micro-frontend architecture.
- Own features end to end and drive architecture and design decisions for scalable, resilient, and secure services.
- Design data models and select appropriate relational and NoSQL storage solutions.
- Build asynchronous integrations using Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
- Deploy and operate services with Docker and Kubernetes while improving CI/CD pipelines and observability.
- Drive testing strategy across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
- Promote responsible AI-assisted development practices within the team.
- Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and promote engineering best practices across teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience across backend and frontend systems, including leadership of technical topics.
- Strong backend experience with Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, or Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript, including modern state management such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or TanStack Query.
- Experience with design systems or micro-frontends is preferred.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, and software architecture.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production observability.
- Knowledge of security best practices for backend and web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools and responsible team usage practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams.
