Responsibilities
- Scope engineering use cases with product managers, traders, and quants and build production-grade AI applications.
- Pair with pod developers on design, code review, testing, and safe use of agentic coding tools.
- Create reusable MCP servers, skills, agents, templates, and other shared capabilities from recurring pod requirements.
- Build entitlements, per-user identity, audit, and evaluation into solutions from the outset.
- Graduate successful applications into Technology ownership through evaluations, documentation, and operational handover.
- Track business impact, including time saved, risk reduced, and decisions supported.
- Provide engineering requirements and gaps for the team roadmap and transfer maintainability to pod teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience with strong Python and SQL skills.
- Direct front-office experience at a hedge fund or bank working day to day with traders or portfolio managers, ideally in Rates or Emerging Markets.
- Hands-on experience building LLM applications involving retrieval, tool use, agents, context engineering, and output-quality evaluation.
- Heavy daily use of agentic coding tools and the ability to review and identify limitations in their output.
- Experience shipping production systems involving APIs, containers, CI/CD, and cloud technologies, with Azure or Kubernetes preferred.
- Ability to turn ambiguous desk requests into scoped deliverables and challenge requests when a solution should not be built.
- Experience building MCP servers or similar tool integrations is desirable.
- Market data and time-series experience, including Bloomberg or Snowflake, is desirable.
- Ability to integrate with existing front-office tooling and collaborate effectively with supporting teams is desirable.
